On June 1, 2018, IRB Office will launch the electronic IRB module of GW’s new Integrated Research Information Software (GW iRIS). From that point on, users will initiate Office of Human Research and IRB applications within this web-based system instead of submitting our existing forms. GW iRIS will manage workflows and allow investigators to track the status of their applications.
In preparation for this launch, the Office of Human Research will not be able to accept submissions between Thursday, May 24th and Thursday, May 31st. During this time, existing applications and studies will be migrated into the new system and testing will be performed to ensure the system is operating as expected.
Investigators will be able to submit applications via the electronic IRB module of GW iRIS beginning on Friday, June 1, 2018.
If you are currently planning a submission:
• You may submit your application prior to Thursday, May 24th using our current forms (submissions made prior to that date will be available within GW iRIS on June 1st but will remain primarily paper-based); or
• Initiate your application on or after Friday, June 1st using the new online system.
