Limited Submission Opportunity: Major Research Instrumentation
The National Science Foundation (NSF) is accepting preliminary proposals for its Major Research Instrumentation Program (MRI). MRI is an NSF-wide program that serves to increase access to shared scientific and engineering instruments for research and research training. The program provides an opportunity to acquire major instrumentation that supports the research and research training goals of the organization and could be utilized by other researchers regionally or nationally.
NSF expects each MRI award to be approximately $1-4 million over three to five years. As an eligible institution, GW may submit three (3) proposals in response to this solicitation. Cost-sharing of precisely 30% of the total project cost is required. Interested potential applicants should submit a complete internal application via GW’s InfoReady portal by Sunday, December 10, 2017.
The selected three proposals will be due to NSF on January 10, 2018. Proposers are also encouraged to contact OVPR’s Research Enhancement Unit for assistance with identifying collaborators (internal and external) for this opportunity. Questions regarding this competition or the InfoReady portal should be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
