GW SPH students and faculty are invited to attend a showcase of GW research at the 21st GW Annual Research Days, March 30
With a focus on student research, the annual event is dedicated to highlighting the breadth of GW research and discovery through poster sessions, presentations, and guest speakers. Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend this showcase!
New this year, SPH students will compete for awards and cash prizes and all attendees can take part in real-time judging! The SPH Research Day 2016 Award categories will consist of the following:
Judges Choice: Project that judges deem as the most outstanding research, overall, at each level of bachelors, masters, and doctorate. In person and on-line posters and presentations will be considered judged using the same criteria.
Collaborative Science Award: Awarded by judges as an outstanding project focused on interdisciplinary public health research involving students and faculty from more than one SPH department or another school at GW.
Policy and Practice Impact Award: Awarded by judges as an outstanding project demonstrating research or evaluation that has influenced or potentially will influence public health policy or practice at the community or local level.
*People’s Choice: Awarded by attendees on Research Day for projects receiving the most votes—the overall audience favorite.
The “smart” link to voting will be provided at Marvin Center on March 30 during poster presentations from 12:30 – 3:00 pm. Participants can vote using smart phones, desk tops, or other devices with internet access. Additional details forthcoming.
Also, please note that eligible SPH students may earn one Professional Enhancement credit hour for casting their vote: People’s Choice. Cash prizes will be presented to winners in each category during the awards ceremony at 4:30 pm, March 30, in the Milken Institute SPH auditorium.
